How do I get Beamtime at NE-CAT?
CAT Members who already have a CAT Member proposal in the APS General User system will only need to submit a Request Time for Proposal for the run that they desire. CAT Member proposals never expire, but we ask that you make sure the one that you are using is up-to-date and relavant to the experiment that you are doing. The actual samples and members of the group coming will be updated on the Experimental Safety Form (ESAF). If you do not have a CAT Member proposal in the APS General User system, please Login Here and submit one by choosing the CAT MEMBER section in the left hand column. If you are unsure if you have a CAT proposal in the system, you can login and search under the last name of the Spokesperson(Usually the PI).
Proposals for beamtime are made via APS Beam Time Request System. If you want to insure that you collect data at NE-CAT only, please specify NE-CAT as your 1st and 2nd choices and uncheck the "any appropriate beamline check box". It is necessary that you submit a “Request Time for Proposal” for each APS run that you desire beamtime. Please see How to Apply for APS Beamtime for more information and to check proposal deadlines. All NE-CAT Beamtimes start at 11:00 AM and end at 9:00 AM the last day of beamtime.
